Eels Training Camp and 2nd scrimmage

24 Aug 2016 by Frank Scarpaci

It has been 10 days into the Eels training camp. The players are all coming along very well. The new and returning players are all working very had. The determination is laid out every day on and off the ice. It is great to see everyone buying in says Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci. There are so many different drills and practice plans being learned by the guys. Next week we will get more into systems.

We set up 2 scrimmages thus far. Last Friday and today. What a marked improvement overall from the first scrimmage game. This Friday we will have a 3rd scrimmage game. The boys are given immediate feedback on their play. Indeed, we have 4 coaches on the bench so players get systematic and continuous critique so they can adjust their play. All comments are positive. We are trying to fix problems rather than break down players’ confidence.

Several parents and billet families have dropped by to watch the boys. Thank you

Tomorrow we will have another skills session with a little more in zone play. In the next few days’ additional players will be joining us. These are boys arriving from out of the USA. Mainly Canada and Russia. They had to finalize VISA papers
