Florida Eels Orientation Weekend

All players are to arrive in Fort Myers no later than August 17th 2018.

For those players who will be arriving in Fort Myers with family members, we have obtained a block of rooms. The information is as follows:

Room Prices: 2 Queens $92.00 per night plus 11% tax
1 King $82.00 per night plus 11% tax

I was advised that each rooms does have a pull out couch as well.

Important Please Note: Block only held until Friday, August 6, 2018. Then rooms on an as available basis.

August 18, 2018:

Player Check-In. All players are to arrive at the Fort Myers Skatium and check in. At that time players and parents will meet with a Team Administrator. The Team Administrator will collect the following paperwork from the player.

1. USPHL player registration. All players must register with the USPHL. Please go to usphl.com and following the prompt for player registration. The cost of registration is $257.87. Please print off a copy of your player registration and bring it to orientation. For all foreign players before you can do your player registration you must purchase foreign player’s insurance. You must first go to the usphl.com website and at the bottom of the page it will say international players. Click there and then follow the prompts to purchase insurance. Cost of foreign insurance is $720.00. After insurance is purchased you will then be allowed to do your player registration with the USPHL.

2. Contract and deposit (if not already provided to Club)

3. Consent to Treat Waiver

4. Half-Shield Waiver. All players who are aged 18 and above must sign this half shield waiver in order to wear a half shield on the ice for any practice or game. This is non-negotiable.

Welcome of Players and Parent
General Manager, Frank Scarpaci, Premier Head Coach, Frank Scarpaci, Elite Head Coach, Alex Sanchez, and Team Administrator Clare Scarpacil will meet with players and parents to explain how the Florida Eels is run, what is expected of our players, training sessions, billeting, what is proper behavior of a player who billet, etc.

Introduction of Billet families

Break (12:30 – 2:00 p.m. players and parents can leave for lunch)

Players will be divided into two groups for the ice session. Depending upon which group you are in will depend upon which ice session you attend.

2:00 p.m Practice jerseys given out to the players.

Team Green: 3:00 – 3:50 p.m. On ice training session

Team Black: 4:00 – 4:50 p.m. On ice training session

5:45 – 6:15 p.m. Player and coaches meeting (only)

Orientation over for Saturday.

Sunday, August 19, 2018:

On Saturday Coach Scarpaci and Coach Sanchez will be dividing the players into two groups for testing purposes on Sunday morning. Depending upon which group you are placed listed below is the time you should arrive at:

8:00 a.m. All players arrive at Generation Fitness for run testing which will end by 10:00 a.m.

Break from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Team Green:
11:00 – 12:00 p.m. Workout session

Team Black:
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Workout session

All testing and workouts should be completed by 1:30 p.m.

Once your testing has been complete you are free to move into your billet home, get settled and spend time with your family before training starts on Monday.
