Florida Eels Elite and Premier Teams Are Up here in Chicago at the 2017 USPHL Midwest Showcase. This upcoming weekend will bring the first USPHL Showcase Series event of the season for the Florida Eels. The Eels teams will play four games in three days at the Showcase. The four-game stretch will be the first time this season that the Florida Eels Elite and Premier teams will take on USPHL opponents outside of Florida.

As you all know, both Eels teams are off to a great start 5-0 playing their first game vs. the Tampa Juniors and then 2 weekend double headers vs. the Daytona Racers. As tune up for the season, the Eels also had games vs. the USA Women’s National team, the Men’s college hockey preseason games vs. ACHA University of Florida Gators, and the ACHA Men’s University of South Florida Bulls.

A pair of venues will be tag-teaming the ice duties for the event as the Leafs Ice Centre and Canlan Ice Sports are the official host sites for the 2017 USPHL Chicago Showcase. Each facility is located approximately 45 minutes outside of Chicago with Leafs Ice Centre located to the northwest of the Windy City while Canlan Ice Sports is located to the southwest. It has been 7+ years since the Eels Junior were here in Chicago playing at a showcase. It is great to be back. There are so many good colleges out here and we are looking forward to getting our players under the radar of so many college recruiters, scouts and coaches.
