Press Release: The Florida Eels are proud to announce their 4th College Commitment with Nolan Greene Committing to Framingham State University.

Florida Eels Elite team goaltender Nolan Greene makes NCAA commitment to play at Framingham State University for 2017-18 academic year.

Nolan Greene was one of the top goalies for the past 3 seasons in the USPHL. The league coaches have voted him as a league all star three straight seasons. He has been selected numerous times by the league as player of the week; over the past 3 seasons Greene’s save percentages and GAA have been outstanding. He backstopped the Eels Empire, USP3 and Elite teams to winning seasons, winning Florida Division titles and advancing to league playoffs in each of his seasons including league finalist last season in the championship series.

Nolan had a number of strong NCAA Division III college coaches recruit him throughout the season. However, there was no question Framingham State was his first choice. Greene is a Quincy Massachusetts native. He and his family are looking forward to having him play in front of his family after being away for 3 years.

Nolan looks forward to playing for Head Coach Guy Angers and his Assistant Coach Mike Bailey. They are building this team to emerge as a contender in the tough and highly competitive NCAA Division III MASCAC conference. It includes solid programs such as Plymouth State, Salem State, and UMass Dartmouth amongst others. Nolan wants to be part of Coach Angers’ Framingham State University Owls rebuilding program. Nolan is a very confident young man. He knows about training hard as he is accustomed to training 4 hours a day. He is a very determined athlete with an untiring work ethic. Nolan’s dedication will propel him to work equally hard all summer to make himself ready for the upcoming year.

The following is Premier Head Coach, Frankie Scarpaci’s scouting report:
“Greene is a hybrid goaltender. He is large and mobile, Has tremendous anticipation skills. His speed and ability to read the game are his two biggest assets. His ability to read the game allows him to shutdown odd man rushes and penalty situations. His positioning plays allow him to track pucks to his body making it easier to control rebounds. His compete level is very high which allows him to steal games for his team. He has great vision to see and track the puck. He communicates very well with his defenseman. Great leadership on and off the ice. Greene’s consistently been one of the top netminders in the USPHL over the last several years.”

General Manager Frank Scarpaci says, " Nolan is a top notch player and an even better person. He is a top character young man. He comes from a phenomenally supportive and loving family. They have made enormous sacrifices to help him realize his dreams. We know he will do well at FSU. Nolan is very focused and mentally driven to succeed at anything he chooses. He is not only a solid goaltender but also an extremely bright young man with a tremendous future in whatever career path he chooses.” We are very proud of Nolan and wish him the best at Framingham State University.
