The Florida Eels Elite Captain Jordan Court Commits to NCAA Division III Neumann University men’s ice hockey program for the fall 2017. Congratulations are clearly in order. Jordan had quite a few schools recruiting him but Neumann University and playing for head coach, Matt Tendler was always his first choice.

Jordan was the most senior Eel playing within the organization. When General Manager, Frank Scarpaci brought the Eels organization to Fort Myers 11-12 years ago, Jordan was just a peewee. Since joining the Eels he has been very loyal to the Eels, never journeying at any other program whether at juniors or in youth hockey. Jordan bleeds Eels colors.

Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci provides the following scouting report: Jordan Court as the Eels’ Captain is a winner in every sense of the term. Court plays in all situations, and does it effectively. He is one of the better two-way players in the league as he doesn’t sacrifice defense for offense. His shot has an extremely quick release that has the puck rise quickly on goalies. Despite his size, Court likes to initiate contact and be the aggressor. He battles very hard along the boards and in front of the opposing goalie.
Good on face-offs and dependable along the boards, Court can play pretty much any position effectively. He has great work ethic. He is an incredibly dedicated and determined young man. He shows up 2 hours before practice and is always the last player to leave. He has the insatiable appetite to score. He works on this every day as he shoots 150 pucks after every practice. He has what college coaches are looking for: The will to win. He has that compete level that you won’t find in many players. As a captain he brings this all to the locker-room and ice every day, at practice and in the games. He is a true and natural leader.

This year in the regular season in 48 games he scored 22 goals notched 35 assists, which includes 12 power play assists. In 4 games in the playoffs Court scored a hat trick for 3 goals and 1 assist. Jordan comes from a very supportive hockey family who without them he would never been able to realize his dreams of playing college hockey. Like Jordan himself his family is very much a part of the Eels, from his parents, his brother, his grandparents and his uncle and aunt. The entire Court family are part of our Eels family and friends.

Jordan is looking forward to his future at Neumann University. He feels it is truly the right fit. He has done his homework and studied their academic programs, the classes, the dorms, campus life, the team, the rink, the fitness facilities and he is very excited to be part of it. He is especially excited to be playing for one of the top NCAA Division III programs. It is an awesome place to play your 4 years of college. He is looking forward to being a “ Knight and playing for head Coach Matt Tendler and his assistants Mike Cauley, Kyle Mountain and Tom Peffall.
